Teen Programs
Our teen students gain the confidence to resist peer pressure and the self-discipline to earn better grades in school. In this program students will learn respect, increase their motivation and gain leadership skills. Our teen students learn to interact with others through class teamwork exercises, while focusing on their individual accomplishments and strengths. Regular exercise is proven to reduce depression and anxiety in adolescents, and ease the transition into the responsibilities of adulthood.
Just For Kicks Martial Arts is devoted to developing our students into strong and confident leaders through our Character Development Program. In a teaching system based on mutual respect, classes focus not only on physical activity, but also on the life skills necessary to be a successful, productive member of society. Tailored for this age group, monthly topics are presented through discussions with the students, written communications posted in school newsletters and on bulletin boards, and examples presented by instructors during classes.
In addition, a full-fledged leadership program is available, where students are challenged by additional tasks and activities both in our school and in the community. They are also involved in mentoring other students, instructor training, and take the lead in school events and functions.
"When Dylan first came to Just For Kicks he was lacking
self-confidence and was overweight with a large attitude; just getting
up and going to school in the morning was a chore. After taking only a
few months of classes we started seeing changes. He was walking taller
and with more confidence, most of the bad attitude was gone, his grades
improved dramatically and he has now lost 57lbs in just 1 1/2 years."
Philomena Kyle – Beacon, NY.
